General Receiving Specifications
- Receiving and Receiving hours: Deliveries to National Bronze and Metals are to be scheduled. Our receiving personnel will endeavor to unload in-bound material in a time effective and efficient manner. Detention charges are solely for the account of the shipper. National Bronze and Metals receives scrap deliveries between the hours of 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Please phone 440-277-1226 x 2122 to schedule a delivery appointment. AS NBM melts on a "Just-in-Time" schedule, deliveries of raw materials are strictly controlled.
- Shipping Requirements: All carriers delivering raw materials/scrap must guard against said material getting wet. All flatbeds or open top trucks must be tarped in-transit and upon arrival. Tarps and box trucks must be free of holes and/or leakage. Scrap arriving wet is subject to immediate rejection. Material must be properly secured within truck to prevent shifting or spillage. Loads not meeting NBM's packaging requirements will only be accepted by prior arrangements made with the Raw Materials Manager.
- Weights: All arriving materials will be weighed in upon arrival. Consumer's weights prevail unless a 2% variance in shipper's weights is determined. At that time, material will be quarantined and shipper will be notified. Shipper has 5 working days to settle weight differences in a mutually beneficial manner. Material not settled within 5 working days is subject to use at consumer's weights or returned to shipper at shipper's cost.
- Contract Due Date: All material must deliver by due date of contract. Contracts not filled by that date are subject to renegotiation or cancellation at the sole discretion of NBM.
- Contract Tolerances: Delivered quantities must be within 10% of contracted volumes. Quantities delivered more or less than the acceptable tolerance by the contract due date are subject to re-negotiation or cancellation.
- Chemical Contamination: Material that has been contaminated by PCB's, asbestos, or any material which constitutes a health hazard or environmental risk.
- Load Inspections: Each in-bound load will be thoroughly inspected and samples taken. The results of this inspection and sampling process will be sufficient grounds for acceptance, rejection, and/or downgrading of the delivered scrap. Physical unloading of the material and subsequent release of the truck and/or driver does not imply acceptance of the load.
- Property Damage: Vendors are responsible for damage done to National Bronze plant, property, and equipment by delivering truck driver.
- Safety and Welfare: National Bronze and Metals is concerned with the safety and welfare of our employees and visitors to our facility. The following are requirements to entering our plant:
- Safety Glasses, steel toed shoes, and hard hats are required to be worn by all employees, visitors, and truckers who enter NBM's plant. Truck drivers must have their own safety glasses, steel toed shoes, and hard hats.
- National Bronze and Metals is committed to a tobacco free workplace. Smoking and tobacco use is not permitted on National Bronze and Metals' property.
- Truck Drivers are required to remain with their vehicles while at the plant.
- While we will make any reasonable effort to accommodate a truck driver, personal facilities are limited. Drivers are asked to attend to their needs prior to entering the plant.
